Effect of Dietary Incorporation of Chili (Capsicum annuum) Leaf Powder on Production Performance and Egg Quality Parameters of Rhode Island Red Laying Hens

The present experiment was planned to ascertain the effect of dietary incorporation chili (Capsicum annuum) leaf powder on production performance and egg quality parameters Rhode Island Red laying hens 28 weeks age for a period 12 weeks. Hens were individually weighed then randomly assigned into four treatment groups with three replicates 6 birds each viz., T1: (control, containing basal diet); T2: Incorporation 0.5% in diet; T3: 1.5% T4: 2.5% diet. results indicated that feed conversion ratio not significantly affected. However, overall average intake (P<0.05) reduced supplemented powder. Egg weight, shape index, shell weight percentage thickness eggs, albumen such as height, Haugh unit statistically similar among all groups. yolk including percentage, cholesterol triglycerides did differ different groups, however, colour improved T4 group, compared T1 group. While, T1, T2 T3 showed no significant difference. To conclude, supplementation chilli @ can be used improve colour.
